The Ministry of Public Works wishes to notify the motoring public of upcoming road traffic changes on Middle Road in Warwick Parish. 

Effective Monday, 14 October 2024, until further notice, rolling single-lane closures will be implemented between Burnt House Hill and Longford Road to facilitate emergency underground cable repair works undertaken by BELCO.

These lane closures will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. BELCO representatives will oversee traffic management, including deploying barricades, stop-and-go signs, and cones to ensure safety and efficiency during the repair operations.

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the affected area and utilize alternative routes via South Road to minimise disruption and delays. Please anticipate increased travel times and exercise heightened caution for those who must travel through the closure zone.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the public that a section of South Road and Point Finger Road in Paget will have a single-lane closure to accommodate sewer trench work.

The lane closure will commence on Saturday, 19 October 2024, and conclude by Sunday, 20 October 2024. Invisible Trenching will manage the work between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

Traffic control will be implemented with 'Stop/Go' signs and temporary traffic lights. For more information, please see the attached notice.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists and the general public that the Bermuda Triathlon Association Standard Distance National Championship Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, 6 October 2024, which will necessitate road closures and traffic diversions in certain areas.

The Bermuda Triathlon Association will host its Standard Distance National Championship Triathlon between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. This event will also involve road closures, which may impact traffic flow near the race site.

The Ministry urges all motorists to plan their journeys accordingly, exercise caution, and adhere to all traffic controls and signage in the affected areas.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists and the general public that the MAAC Beyond Fitness 5K race is scheduled for Sunday, 6 October 2024, which will necessitate road closures and traffic diversions in certain areas.

The MAAC Beyond Fitness 5K race will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to anticipate road closures and potential delays during this period, especially along the race route.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to advise the motoring public of a lane closure on North Shore Road, from Barkers Hill to Jennings Road, to facilitate necessary fencing repair works. 

The closure will affect the eastbound lane and will be in effect from Tuesday, 24 September 2024, until Thursday, 24 October 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while travelling through this area and are encouraged to consider alternative routes during work hours. 

Traffic management measures will be in place, with the Ministry's representatives using cones to guide vehicles through the affected area.

The Ministry appreciates the public's cooperation during this period and apologises for any inconvenience caused as we work to improve the infrastructure.

The Ministry of Public Works advises the public of an emergency lane closure on the westbound lane of Somerset Road, near Scaur Hill in Sandys Parish, due to the failure of a retaining wall adjacent to the roadway.

The lane closure will take effect today, Thursday, 19 September 2024, and will remain in place until further notice to ensure the safety of road users.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution while driving in the affected area. Traffic will be controlled via temporary traffic lights and Stop/Go boards to manage the flow of vehicles.

The Ministry appreciates the public's cooperation during this time and will provide updates as the situation progresses.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that Harbour Road in Paget Parish will be closed for an emergency today, Thursday, 19 September 2024.

From 10 a.m., Harbour Road from Harvey Road to Highwood Lane will be closed to allow for the placement of a crane to extract a submerged vehicle from Hamilton Harbour. The closure will remain in place until the vehicle is removed.

Representatives from Pimental Crane Services will manage traffic control using barricades, signs, and cones.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes via Middle Road. Please find the attached notice for more details.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the public that The Causeway in St. George's Parish will be closed in one lane from Wednesday, 18 September 2024, to Sunday, 22 September 2024. 

This closure is necessary to facilitate repair works on the existing masonry wall. The work will be conducted daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Traffic control will be managed by the Contractor's representatives using Stop/Go signs. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution when navigating through the work area. For more information, please see the attached notice.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to advise the motoring public of the continued road closure on St. David's Road in St. George's Parish, specifically at the Stokes Point Bridge bend. 

Initially planned for a shorter duration, this closure will now extend through to Friday, 20 September 2024, to facilitate ongoing wall reconstruction and road improvement works.

To ensure public safety and the timely completion of these necessary improvements, traffic will continue to be detoured through Kindley Field Park, Wallast Point Road, and Southside Road.

The roadwork will occur on weekdays, with working hours set from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Traffic control measures will remain in place and will be overseen by Ministry of Public Works representatives. 

Motorists are urged to comply with all directions traffic control personnel provide and heed the barricades, signs, and cones in place for safety.

The Ministry appreciates the public's cooperation and patience during this time and apologises for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.

The Ministry of Public Works advises the public that the Bermuda Bicycle Association will be conducting a Time Trial event on Sunday, 25 August 2024, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. 

During this period, certain roads will be impacted by the race, and motorists are urged to exercise caution.

The bicycle race will begin at Middle Road near St. Paul's Lane, proceeding westward along Middle Road before turning onto South Road at Barnes Corner Park. The race will continue eastward along South Road, concluding at Bermuda College.

While no roads will be closed during the event, race marshals will actively manage the race route to ensure the safety of both participants and motorists. 

All drivers are required to adhere to the instructions given by Race Marshals to facilitate smooth traffic control throughout the event.

The Ministry of Public Works would like to advise the motoring public of ongoing lane closures on Harrington Sound Road and Middle Road on Flatts Hill in Smith's Parish. These lane closures, necessary for sequential milling and paving works, will continue through Friday, 23 August 2024.

• Affected Area: Harrington Sound Road, both lanes from Manor House Bridge to Middle Road in Flatts.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that a single-lane closure will be on North Shore Road, westbound, from Shelly Bay Marketplace to Radnor Road, Hamilton Parish. 

This lane closure is necessary to allow Island Construction Ltd. to undertake trench works to install a water line.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the public of upcoming 'No Parking' restrictions on several roads in St. George's Parish to facilitate the Eastern County Games.

Affected Roads and Areas:

• Cashew City Road: From the Bus Shelter near St. David's Primary School to the Gunner Bay Park turnaround entrance.
• Great Bay Road: From Texas Road junction to the old post office site.
• Battery Hill: Entire length.
• St. David's Road: From the Texas Road junction to the old post office site.

These 'No Parking' restrictions will be in effect for the entire day on both dates. The restrictions are necessary to ensure access for emergency vehicles during the Eastern County Games.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Bicycle Association Criterium Road Race will take place on Sunday, 14 July 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 am.

Ministry of Public Works advises that the Bermuda Bicycle Association will hold a road race on Sunday, July 7, starting at 8:00 am from the Prospect Police Headquarters on Fort Hill in Devonshire. 

Passage across several roads, including Middle  Road, North Shore and Frog Lane, will be affected during this time. 

The race is expected to finish by 10:30 am, and race marshals and Bermuda Police Service will control the route. 

The Ministry of Public Works advises that as of Saturday, 6 July, through Sunday, 11 August, there will be a single-lane closure on the South Road westbound lane starting from the Paget traffic light to allow for demolition and reconstruction of a wall section along the sidewalk. 

Traffic delays can be expected due to the traffic control measures. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use extra caution in the area.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to update the public about the ongoing paving work on South Road near the Collector's Hill junction in Smith's Parish.

On Wednesday, 26 June, paving operations stopped due to a malfunction of the Ministry's paver.

This has resulted in the westbound lane on South Road between Devon Spring Lane and the bus layby across from Cloverdale Road having an uneven surface, as it has been milled off in preparation for paving.

The Ministry of Public Works has rented a paver from East End Asphalt to complete the works while our paver is being repaired. Weather permitting, the paving works are scheduled to resume and be completed by Monday, 1st July.

In the interim, crews will place cones along the centre of the roadway to indicate the location of the uneven surface. Motorists are advised to traverse this area with great care.

The Ministry apologises for the inconvenience this delay may cause and appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as the work to improve the Island's roadways continues.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that North Shore Road's eastbound lane in Flatts, Smith's Parish, will be closed to one lane to facilitate the cleanout of the storm drains.

Depending on weather conditions, this lane closure will commence on Thursday, 27 June 2024, or Friday, 28 June 2024. The work will be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Traffic control measures will be implemented under the direction of Ministry of Public Works representatives, utilising stop-and-go signs and cones to manage vehicle flow.

Motorists are advised to use Middle Road as an alternative route to avoid this section on North Shore Road in Flatts Village.

The Ministry wishes to inform the motoring public that there will be a single-lane closure on the eastbound lane of Middle Road, east of Riddell's Bay Road junction in Warwick Parish.

This lane closure will facilitate BELCO trench works. The details are as follows:

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that there will be a road closure in Pembroke Parish to accommodate a Community Day Block Party. 

• Location: Mount Hill, from Swansbay Hill/Twin Lane Place to Overview Hill/Bluff Lane, Pembroke Parish
• Closure Date: Saturday, 29 June 2024
• Closure Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Motorists wishing to access Mount Hill are advised to detour via Berkely Road or Langton Hill. Traffic controls will be managed by Community Day representatives. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the road closure on Mount Hill and use the alternative routes provided.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that there has been an emergency road closure at the start of Canal Road, adjacent to Marsh Folly Road, due to damage resulting from an accident on Wednesday, 22 May 2024.

The road closure commenced on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, and remains in effect until further notice. 

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that there will be temporary lane closures on Middle Road at the St. Anthony’s church parking lot near Burnt Hours Hill to accommodate trench work for a damaged underground cable. The lane closure will affect the eastbound lane.

The trench work is from Wednesday, May 1 2024, until Friday, May 3 2024, between 9 am and 4 pm.
