Bermuda Government offering training and education opportunities in emerging technology

The Bermuda Government is offering a free two-day seminar on June 24th and 25th, for college/university students of any age, entitled Fundamentals of FinTech. The seminar is being led by Amilcar Chavarria, the CEO of The FinTech School, who will be on the island to present this course.

FinTech School is a San Francisco based company that was started by serial entrepreneurs and ex Wall Street professionals. Their mission is to improve financial literacy, spur economic growth, and bank the unbanked by providing FinTech and Blockchain training and content to Financial institutions, governments, universities and individuals. They offer numerous online self-paced courses available to all interested persons in Bermuda. Currently, over 180 persons are taking advantage of this opportunity.

There is also a six-session compliance course beginning Tuesday 25th June; this training is being offered by Omega One, the first licensed Fintech Company in Bermuda. These courses are designed to meet the needs of all sectors of the community, irrespective of an individual’s experience level.
