Leaders on the Record Podcast

The Government of Bermuda has released the second episode of its official podcast series, Leaders on The Record, continuing its commitment to transparent, in-depth conversations on the issues that matter most to the community.

Following the inaugural episode featuring the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, who addressed gang and gun violence in Bermuda, Episode Two turns its focus to the island’s housing challenges, one of the most pressing social and economic issues facing the country today.

In this latest episode, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Housing and Municipalities, the Hon. Zane DeSilva, JP, MP, provides a candid update on the current state of housing in Bermuda, the growing demand for affordable homes, and the Government’s plans to accelerate housing delivery.

During the episode, Minister DeSilva outlines the Government’s draft 10-year affordable housing strategy, details new housingdevelopments in the pipeline, and explains how alternative construction methods such as modular and prefabricated housing are being explored to deliver homes more quickly and efficiently. He also addresses community concerns, the importance of public consultation, and the need for compassion as Bermuda works to meet increasing housing demand.

Leaders on The Record is designed to move beyond headlines and press conferences, giving the public direct access to Ministers and senior leaders as they explain policies, respond to concerns, and share their vision for Bermuda’s future.

The podcast series forms part of the Government’s broader communications strategy to strengthen public engagement, improve understanding of national issues, and foster informed dialogue across the community.
