“Every one of our five uniformed services worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our community over the last two weeks," said Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks.
The Minister today expressed his gratitude to Bermuda’s uniformed services for their commitment and hard work during the recent Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s holidays.
Minister Weeks added: “Their dedication to duty, especially during a time when many are away from their families, has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.”
The Minister highlighted that the holiday period was relatively quiet, with only minor incidents reported. "This reflects not only the vigilance of our frontline services but also the efforts of the community to ensure safe and responsible behaviour."
“As we return to our normal routines, I hasten to remind the public that keeping our island safe is a shared responsibility. I hope that we carry the spirit of care and cooperation we saw over the holidays into the new year,” the Minister stated.
The Minister also extended best wishes for a safe 2025, while emphasising the collective role of all Bermudians in fostering a peaceful and harmonious community.
“Together, we can build on this positive momentum and ensure that Bermuda continues to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone,” the Minister concluded.
