Today is the Bermuda College’s Commencement Ceremony. The Premier, the Hon. David Burt MP, has shared a message of congratulations for this year’s college graduates.

Today is a celebration of your commitment, perseverance, and success. The late nights of studying, the personal sacrifices, and the dedication you’ve shown to your education have all led to this moment, and you should be incredibly proud. This milestone also marks the close of one chapter and the beginning of another.
To those continuing your academic journey, know that the exceptional foundation you’ve received at Bermuda College will serve you well. Your achievements reflect the high standards and dedication of the teaching you have received and Bermuda College’s legacy of academic excellence.
To those entering or re-entering the workforce, you are stepping into an economy stronger and more dynamic than it has been in years. Bermuda’s economy is not just recovering but growing, unemployment has dropped to its lowest point in over half a century, and more Bermudians are working in International Business than ever before. The Government will continue to work to foster economic development, so that more opportunities are created for young Bermudians like you.
The Government will not only work to foster opportunities for you but also invest in you. The Government has increased funding for education, training, and technology, with specific investments in apprenticeships, skills certification, and support for entrepreneurial pathways. Through the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, we continue supporting young entrepreneurs with access to training, mentorship, and capital. And we continue to enhance Bermuda’s leading role in digital finance so that more high-quality companies choose to come to our shores and provide new jobs and opportunities in the ever-increasing global digital economy.
We are committed to ensuring that young, talented Bermudians are not only included in Bermuda’s future but are leading it.
On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I commend your accomplishments. You’ve shown the resilience, discipline, and ability to succeed. We believe in you and are committed to making sure Bermuda provides the opportunities you’ve worked so hard to earn.
