Ministry of Economy and Labour Provides Update on Work Permit Policy Consultation

The Ministry of Economy and Labour is pleased to advise that it will continue carefully reviewing the feedback submitted by stakeholders and members of the public during the Work Permit Policy 2025 consultation.
The consultation, which ran from June 5 through July 4, 2025, invited employers, employees, agents, and the general public to review the draft Work Permit Policy and provide comments through the Government's online consultation forum. The Ministry is encouraged by the level of engagement received and thanks the public for their thoughtful and constructive contributions.
Minister of Economy and Labour, the Hon. Jason Hayward, JP, MP, said, “On behalf of the Government, I sincerely thank everyone who participated in this important consultation process. The feedback provided will play a vital role in ensuring that the updated Work Permit Policy is fair, transparent, and responsive to the needs of Bermuda's workforce and economy."
The Ministry is currently working through all the feedback, with the goal of incorporating relevant adjustments into the final version of the Policy.
Minister Hayward will present a summary of the consultation feedback and the finalised Work Permit Policy 2025 in the House of Assembly on September 26, 2025. The Policy is scheduled to come into effect on November 1, 2025.
The Ministry of Economy and Labour looks forward to sharing further updates with the public. It remains committed to maintaining a balanced approach to employment and immigration that protects opportunities for Bermudians while meeting the needs of the broader economy.
