Parks Special Permit

The Special Permit online application is now available and may be used to apply for special event, drone, bonfire, and metal detecting permits.

The new online form provides a convenient and efficient way to complete and submit applications electronically.

Applicants without computer access or who prefer to apply in person may continue to obtain and submit hardcopy applications at the Department of Parks office, located on the ground floor of Global House, 43 Church Street, Hamilton.

Bonfires in the National Parks:

  • All bonfires require a Special Permit which must be obtained from the Department of Parks’ office.   
  • Upon obtaining a Special Permit, persons will receive all necessary information about the terms and conditions for proper bonfire conduct within National Parks.

Small Unmanned Aircraft:

  • For those who wish to fly a small unmanned Aircraft (SUA) in any National Park, must have a permit issued by the Department of Parks.
