What do they do?

The Attorney-General’s Chambers:

  • Provide quality legal services to the Bermuda Government.
  • Advise all Government Ministries, Departments, and Entities, on the law applicable to their operational requirements.
  • Draft legislation as required to implement the Government's policy, to maintain Bermuda's legislative database and to support Law Reform.
  • Draft contracts, international instruments for Mutual Tax Information Exchange, conveyances and other documents required for public purposes and to provide advice on Private Bills.
  • Conduct litigation in the Civil Courts of Bermuda on behalf of the Government of Bermuda.
  • Process Mutual Legal Assistance Requests on behalf of International Jurisdictions.
  • Provide high quality legal advice to all ministries and government departments.
  • Draft contracts, leases and other legal documents required for public purposes.
  • Consolidate and publish the laws of Bermuda on the website www.bermudalaws.bm.
