The Premier & Minister of Finance travelled to San Francisco, California for the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference ‘RISKWORLD’. RIMS is the largest community dedicated to advancing risk management, and RISKWORLD was the first in-person conference since 2019. Bermuda has sent a delegation to this important annual conference for over 35 years.
Premier David Burt travelled to Switzerland following an invitation to attend the Crypto Finance Conference to further promote Bermuda’s digital asset business sector.
Premier was invited to speak at a Future of Finance Summit event hosted in Chicago. The invitation followed the Premier meeting African-American leaders in Blockchain at the 2021 Satoshi Roundtable. Hotel, accommodation and ground transportation were covered by the conference hosts.
UKOTA Meeting
This year the Premier acted in capacity as President of the Political Council within United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association and chaired the meeting of the Political Council where Overseas Territories Leaders discussed the issues that would be raised with the U.K Government and the Joint Ministerial Council the following day

The Satoshi Roundtable is an invite-only event that has been running annually since 2014 to which the Premier received a personal invitation as recognition for Bermuda’s leadership in the fintech space. It attracts leading thinkers, influencers and builders in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
The Premier attended this exclusive event with the then Deputy CEO of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, Craig Swan.
Premier travelled to the Annual Legislative Council of the Congressional Black Caucus where he was hosted by the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers.
At the Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner Premier engaged in discussions with leadership of local insurance companies in addition to Members of Congress who are part of the Financial Services Committee which has jurisdiction over Bermuda's insurance sector.
The Premier traveled to the Collision 2019 Conference in Toronto, Canada. The Collision is one of the largest tech conferences in North America. Canada is a market that the Business Development Agency is looking to target for additional technology investment into Bermuda.
The Premier joined the Minister of Finance at the Consensus 2019 Conference, which is the largest gathering for digital asset companies. During this time the Premier engaged in a number of Business Development meetings both related to digital assets and traditional financial services in New York City. The Premier traveled to the annual RIMS Conference where he and the Minister of Finance participated. Additionally, the Premier met with Circle, a digital asset company that is looking to be attracted to Bermuda. Also, there were multiple meetings with the Digital Currency Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to formalize relationships between the Government of Bermuda and MIT as Bermuda moves towards a pioneering electronic identity solution.
The Premier traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with members of the 116th United States Congress and had the opportunity to meet with Rep. Richard Neal, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee in addition to hosting a breakfast for members of Congress to inform and update on issues pertaining to Bermuda.
In addition the Premier also met individually with:
